How We Helped With Executive Burnout

Case Study – Executive Burnout

Having returned from an in-depth first month of reviewing a large corporates policy on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, it was interesting to see how this company, like many others, had nothing in place to support both it’s executive team and it’s employees.

The cost to the company

This company nearly lost one of its senior executive team because no-one was recognising why his declining interest in the company, his mistakes and his lack of motivation were caused by events outside the business.

Senior executives are not always the first to admit they are struggling with managing both internal and external issues. Trying to stay focused on the business when family issues and illness outside had left this individual drained and exhausted and no longer effective in his role. Stubbornly he had tried to hide this and continue, but the impact on his performance was obvious to his peers and the business.

Conclusion

By working directly with this individual – fact to face. By understanding, supporting and mentoring him, he is now able to perform his job role and communicate more effectively with his team. Outbursts of anger are no longer an issue and have seen the positive impact this has had on him, we are now working individually with all the senior executive team to put in place a different ethos in the company. Ensuring that all of the executive team and senior managers are aware of, and are working with us, to help them to grow their bottom line and increase profits.

This strategy will be filtered down through the company as time progresses, this company now knowing that engaged and supported staff helped to increase the business and it’s potential.
